Embarcadero has released a hotfix for Delphi XE7 Firemonkey Update 1. The hotfix addresses a number of issues having to do with controls repainting. Additionally, it fixes a number of issues with TViewport3D having to do with repainting as well. Marco Cantu has a blog post up where he explains further the contents of the hotfix. The hotfix weighs in at 361MB because it includes all of the compiled DCU files plus the source. It is nice to see hotfixes come out and address existing issues without having to wait for larger updates. Mobile moves so fast it might be a good idea if hotfixes came out once a month or so to address any breaking issues that come up with mobile platforms. As an example Adobe AIR has a runtime release schedule of once a month. They release betas and then after a month or so they move that to production and release a new beta. Browsers like Chrome and Firefox also have very frequent release schedules so there is plenty of precedent in the industry for frequent release schedules.
