Developer Thomas Grubb from RiversoftAVG has updated his SVG viewer component for Delphi XE7 Firemonkey. There have been quite a few updates to this component since we covered it before. The component supports most features from the SVG 1.1 specification and compiles for Android, IOS, Windows, and OSX. It should also compile in Delphi XE5, XE6, and AppMethod. There are two different modes in which it can operate. The first one just draws the SVG to an off screen bitmap before drawing to the screen. The second one actually turns itself into Delphi design time and runtime Firemonkey shape components which you can interact with. The SVG support includes document structure, styling, coordinate systems, transformations, units, paths, basic shapes, text, painting, color, gradients, patterns, clipping, masking, and compositing. There are some limitations however which are no clipping, no gradient fills, no masking, and no filters. This is a commercial component set and you can see the latest release notes here. There are also new demos with this version to demonstrate the capabilities of the SVG component.
