The software house Developer Machines has a nice data aware component called FireDataGrid for Delphi XE6 (and probably XE7) Firemonkey. The data grid is cross platform and works on both Windows and Mac desktop environments. It’s main features are sorting, grouping, fixed columns and rows, filters, zooming, and summaries. It also has a field chooser for quick customization, scrolling by rows and pixels, banded columns, row auto height mode, column auto width mode, and supports Firemonkey styles. I would like to see this component expand support to Android and IOS. However, there is something to be said for having a really nice dedicated desktop grid control on Firemonkey. It looks like it would be great for big kiosk displays. There are lots of demos available for this component and it has a free trial which you can use with Delphi XE6. This is a commercial component but source code is provided so you should be able to compile it in Delphi XE7 and Appmethod without too much trouble as well. We’ve covered this component before when it was only in beta.
