Delphi XE7 Firemonkey OCR Library Tesseract Android IOS | Delphi 11 10 XE8 XE7 XE Seattle Berlin Tokyo Rio Firemonkey Delphi Android Delphi IOSDeveloper Erik Salaj from Winsoft has released his OCR wrapper component for Delphi XE7 Firemonkey. OCR stands for optical character recognition and allows you to retrieve text from an image. This component wraps the Tesseract OCR engine and the Leptonica image processing library. Currently the component supports Android, Windows, and OSX. It does not appear to support IOS yet but if you need IOS support there are two other IOS libraries that wrap Tesseract and you can access them here and here. Tesseract claims to be the most accurate open source OCR library, supports 60 different languages, and Google has been improving the library since 2006. We covered this component for Delphi XE5 before here in this post. This is a commercial component but there is a trial and demos available for Windows, OSX, and Android. Additionally, you can get this component in the massive Winsoft Component Package which is a giant suite of components for really low cost. This component should also support Appmethod.
