Developer Erik Salaj from Winsoft has released a new version of his PDFium wrapper for Delphi XE7 Firemonkey. This new version supports Windows and Mac and will probably also compile with Appmethod. PDFium is an open source library for reading and writing PDF files. Apparently PDFium is actually the engine for viewing PDF files in the Google Chrome browser as well. In any event this library allows you to view and edit PDF files on both desktop platforms that Firemonkey currently supports. There is a demo for each platform that you can download and test out for yourself but the wrapper itself is a commercial library. When you distribute applications that use the library you do have to distribute the PDFium DLL file as well. If you need PDF viewer support on mobile devices you might try out a Javascript library that we discussed in this previous post. This component is also part of the Winsoft Component Package which gives you access to a huge number of libraries and components at a greatly reduced price.
I downloaded demo for android, started it to nexus 7 and didn’t get reaction. It doesn’t work
